Hi there Pam! I I have marked all my practical CAT grade 10 paper, and would like to find out if others also have the same problem as I do. Reffering to question number 3 (excel) My learners are working with Office 2007. The data file is a 2003 file, so on saving Excel made them aware of the version clash and warns them on the possibility of functions not saving correctly. Well most learners work saved correctly, but a few of them, when I open their files on my computer only the result is displayed in the formula bar, and not the functions. Is there anyone that has a suggestion on what I should do. I cannot prove that the kids actually typed in the correct formula, but it is higly unlikely that they actualy worked out the reuslts on a calculator. Thanks
I have used and worked between 3 and 7 and never had a problem with functions/formulas. They have always displayed. I think your learners did use a calculator. Get the learners in and ask them to show you how to do it. However do not indicate that there was/is a problem. Listen to what they say. I bet they guessed, looked at the learner next to them or used the Windows calculator. Please post to the blog what happened. Best wishes Pam
