Comments on 2011 CAT Matric paper

One of the benefits of this blog is that you can comment Anonymously or by using your name.
How did the examinations go? How did the September paper set by Study Opportunities help prepare learners for the final examination?
Looking forward to seeing responses.

Pam, Practical Exams went extremely well. Not because of any training or information sessions held by WCED, but because of experience.

WCED and its officials really do think that teachers are a bunch of idiots. I believe that where there are problems at identified schools with regard to Practical Exams, that those schools should be helped.

I'm sick and tired of going to little training sessions and be treated like a naughty child.

My rant for the day.

Rants are fine. At least you can rant anonymously.
And if the rant is too awful I can remove it.
Rant on with helpful ideas. Hope those that need to read the comments, can read them.

No!!!! 7.3 was a problem because it could not open. High flyer would have copied it to Excel and then used info. Problem was with enabling and compatibility. I think paper set in 2003. I was pleased with overall Prac Exam. My subject advisor, Estelle Llwellyn, is a gem and guides and holds our hands throughout the year. Went to a CAPS w/shop today and feel so empowered by what she had to offer.
As for StOp Trial Paper, found some skills very advanced for my learners. The Mus-Pre(not a straighforward Concat, as many learners tried) was difficult and some of the other functions. More difficult that Final according to my girls. Thank you for all info on blog and hard work over the year.

Thank you for the trial papers. It is a good foundation for the end of year paper. Please keep on doing so. In connection with the mail merge. It was beyond a CAT learner's ability. It is more on an IT level, but I am sure the mopderators and subject advisors will pick this up and give our learners the benifit of the doubt.

Hope that this solved the problems of the mail merge.

Pam, would appreciate it if someone is coming across something that the mail merge created, to post it on the mailing list for us. That the learners don't come across it at the end of the year.

Thank you for all your hard word during the year.
